Governor Announces Changes at Department of Administrative Services
Salt Lake City - Governor Jon Huntsman today announced the appointment of Kimberly Hood
as the new executive director of the Department of Administrative Services, replacing Richard
Ellis as he leaves to join the Utah State Treasurer's Office as their new Chief Deputy State
Treasurer.
"I admire Richard's leadership as he has served tremendously well as the Executive Director at
the Department of Administrative Services," said Governor Huntsman. "As we wish Richard
farewell, we welcome Kimberly as the new executive director. Kimberly brings with her an
abundance of strong qualities that will make her an excellent director of Administrative Services
and I look forward to working with her in this new capacity."
"It has been an honor to be part of the Huntsman administration. Serving on the Governor's staff
and as part of the cabinet is a unique opportunity ~ a highlight of my career," said Ellis.
Kimberly Hood has served in State Government for 8 years in a variety of public policy
positions, including most recently as Deputy Director of the Governor's Office of Planning and
Budget.
"I am humbled by this opportunity to serve as the new Executive Director of Administrative
Services," said Hood. "I am joining a great team of dedicated public servants and I look forward
to serving."
Hood said priorities on her agenda will concentrate on implementing Governor Huntsman's
Energy Efficiency Policy and strengthening the balanced score card to deliver cost competitive
internal services.
