The bearer, Mr Rodney D Swasey, I have known for a great
many years. He is a good citizen and a man laentlfied with the interests of Utah, and desires me to intercede with you for an executive
clemency for his son, who is now in the Penitentiary under charge of
larceay. I feel sure that the ends of Justice would be as well served
if your Excellency would extend a pardon to his son, rather than carry
out the ssatence, which has a few months to run. as 1 feel, on his return to his home and family, that he will make a good citizen, judglng
