SUBJECT: Substantive changes to December and January Series
Record Series titles listed below were submitted to the State Records Committee for
approval in December and January and were returned by members of the committee
with comments suggesting changes in retention. The suggested changes listed below
have been discussed with the agencies, the member suggesting the change, and are
now submitted to the committee as a whole, for discussion and approval by vote at the
State Records Committee meeting.
Department of Transportation, Traffic and Safety Section, Ski lift data sheets,
The retention read "retain in office for 2 years after ski lift no longer exists." The
suggested recommendation was to change the retention to: "retain in office for 2 years
after ski lift no longer exists and then transfer to the State Archives."
Max Evans expressed concern that the retention was too short to record
Department of Transportation, Traffic and Safety Section, Utah Passenger
Tramway Safety Committee report of passenger tramway incidents, series 14412.
The retention read "retain for 5 years and then destroy." The suggested
recommendation was to change the retention to "retain for 5 years and then transfer to
the State Archives."
Max Evans felt that the series has historical value and should be transferred to
the State Archives.
Betsy Ross felt the retention period should also be permanent. Ms. Ross would
